Key to the continued evolution of these models has been the introduction of technological advancements, most notably Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) and the optional seven-speed, Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) double clutch transmission. Both DFI and PDK have received incredible praise from the motoring industry worldwide following their introduction on the 911 (type 997) range of vehicles late in 2008, with stunning results including increased engine power and performance, yet providing considerable reductions in both fuel consumption and emissions.
