Different fuel - same spirit: Cayenne Diesel.
Porsche has designed an SUV whose performance, safety and looks certainly does not conceal its ancestry. It’s a "decathlete" that convinces in the most varying disciplines, on-road and off-road alike.
The 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel features front-engine, all-wheel drive, producing 176 kW (240 hp) at 4,000 - 4,400 rpm. It’ll take you from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 s with a top speed of 214 km/h. It’s powerful, refined and efficient.
The flattened headlight geometry gives a broader look to the car. This is complimented further by the large air intake openings for optimum cooling. The flared wheel arches emphasise the athleticism of the new Cayenne Diesel. The rear section also alludes to the powerful capability of the car. LED tail lights and brake lights, plus integrated matt-silver single-tube tailpipes, add a distinctive finishing touch.
In short: a powerful first impression, inside and out, that is also enduringly Porsche.
The five round instruments are among the striking interior features with their logical arrangement forming a single visual unit. Depending on optional equipment, the integrated instrument cluster provides information on the air suspension setting including, PASM, tyre pressure and the condition of the brake pads.
The new Cayenne Diesel boasts outstanding sports performance and comfort, along with anything else you might need along the way. Fuel consumption in the ECE driving cycle comes in at 9.3 litres of diesel per 100 km (30.4 mpg), remarkable efficiency and economy by any standard.
The turbocharger on the new Cayenne Diesel features variable turbine geometry (VTG) – a technology pioneered in the petrol-engined 911 Turbo. The incoming exhaust gases drive a set of electronically variable turbine blades whose angle is continuously adjusted, to ensure optimum performance under all engine loads. The result is far greater power and torque, even at low revs.
Precision is one of the most important words in the Porsche engineering vocabulary. It is the absolute ideal that must be achieved in the Cayenne Diesel, from the varied requirements of everyday use to the most demanding off-road terrain. Not to mention the three of the qualities which define every Porsche: strength, endurance, and versatility. In the new Cayenne Diesel, such a transformation has brought a new facet to the concept of high performance.
The new Cayenne Diesel arrives at Porsche Centre Brisbane in April 2009. To arrange an exclusive demonstration contact James Simpson on (07) 3248 9411.
