2010: The year of high performance.
The new 911 Turbo and 911 GT3.
2010 will be a year of high performance, with the release of the new 911 Turbo and 911 GT3 models in the Australian market. Porsche’s stunning range of 911 road-going ‘sporting models’ has never been such an impressive, or as powerful a proposition as it will be in 2010.
The just arrived, seventh generation of the 911 Turbo races from 0-100kmh in 3.4 seconds, with some reviewing journos claiming an even faster sprint after using the launch control function!
The immense power of the new 2010 911 Turbo comes from the first all-new engine in the Turbo’s 34 year history – a 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged six cylinder producing 368kW and 650Nm. An optional overboost function can take this to a huge 700Nm, leaving some other ‘supercars’ well and truly in the shade.
The new GT3 continues Porsche’s ‘from racetrack to road’ heritage. With a water-cooled six cylinder boxer engine now displacing 3.8litres, VarioCam variable valve control and a six speed manual transmission the GT3 is designed for the high demands of Porsche Motorsport.
The new GT3’s engine develops 435 horse power, revs to 8,500 rpm and reaches a top track speed of 312kmh – making it more powerful than ever, yet more fuel efficient than the previous model. In addition, advances in lighter weight construction, combined with exterior and interior design features result in one of the most uncompromising designs in the history of Porsche.
